How to Remove Microsoft Sticky Notes from Startup

Click Start and in the search box type: msconfig. Under the Startup tab, scroll down and find the Microsoft Windows Operating System command: C:\Windows\System32\StikyNot.exe, and uncheck that box. Be sure to choose the right one, there are two Microsoft Windows Operating System commands in there.

  1. The above does not work as it comes back after restart. The file is a admin read only so it just comes back. I'm tired of Microsoft dumping this trash via updates on my computer.

  2. Bummer. This worked for me. Would you double-check that this command is unchecked: C:\Windows\System32\StikyNot.exe ??

  5. Bummer. Perhaps it's located somewhere else for different operating systems. My OS is Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Also be sure you're logged in as the Administrator so you can make the change. Type System Information at the Start search box to view your OS.
