Flickr RSS Feed for any Tag

"Flickr doesn't yet offer an easy way to grab a search feed, with the exception of tags. You can get an RSS feed of photos with a given tag by using the following feed:

http://api.flickr.com/services/feeds/photos_public.gne?tags=TAGNAMEHERE&lang=en-us&format=rss_200

…and replacing TAGNAMEHERE with the tag you want."

How to see the Pictures you've Posted to a Flickr Group

To see the pictures you've posted to a group, first you'll need your Flickr ID (it is not the same as your Flickr user name). Use this great tool to determine your ID, and then in the link you see below replace everything after the /7519222@N05 with your ID.

How to Add a Flickr Photo to your Blog (with a link back to your Flickr Photo)

There are 2 methods to put a picture in your blog and Hyperlink to Flickr when the photo is clicked. The results are the same no matter which method you choose.

Method #1 is to click on the 'down-arrow' in the Share section above the photo in Flickr, and copy the html code under "Grab the HTML/BBCode" to your Blog (switch to 'Edit HTML' mode and just paste it where you want it).

Clearly this bird used to be domesticated. He was definitely doing a happy dance. Tony's Seafood Restaurant (Marshall, CA).
Method #2 is to upload the photo, and then go into the HTML code and replace what's after the "a href=" with your photo's URL. But if you aren't comfortable with that, stick with the 1st method above.

Flickr - Usage outside of Flickr must provide a link back to its page on Flickr

Where is the HTML code and photo file link?

The HTML code to embed a photo in a web page that you used to find on the All Sizes page is now only in the Share menu above the photo, to the right of the Actions menu. We now also include BBCode! (standard message board code)
There are a few cases where the code may not be available: 1) If the photo is restricted. 2) If that person has turned off "Share this" or access to original files.

The direct link to a photo file is no longer shown on the page. Per the Flickr Community Guidelines "pages on other websites that display content hosted on flickr.com must provide a link from each photo or video back to its page on Flickr." Linking directly to the photo file doesn't do this.

How to import/share Flickr photos into Facebook (official Flickr instructions)

How can I use Flickr with Facebook?

Images you upload to Flickr can automatically post to your Facebook updates, letting you share them in both places at the same time. To set up the Facebook connection, just go to Your Account.  Then click "connect".  Since Facebook is owned by Yahoo, what you are doing is connecting your Yahoo account and Facebook.

Please note: Only safe/public images will show on Facebook.

How to get your Flickr Photos to show up in your Facebook Stream

http://www.flickr.com/help/account/#3102:

Can I automatically update my Facebook when I update my photostream?

Yes you can! We’ve made it even easier for you to use Facebook’s import feature. Just go to your account and activate the link (you may be asked to login at Facebook if you are not already). Once you’ve done that, your latest Flickr uploads will be added into your Facebook News Feed and Mini-Feed.

Get your Flickr photos to show up in your Facebook profile

Uploads in Flickr will automatically post on Facebook as thumbnail images that your friends can click on through to Flickr.
"Here is a caveat: it doesn’t always work automatically. I often have to go to my Facebook profile and click Settings (the one with the gear icon) below my status entry field. Then I have to click Update next to the Flickr import link. I often have to click this three times before it actually imports my latest photo links."

More from flickr:

Why aren't my new uploads showing on Facebook?
After you have activated the link, photos marked as safe and public will appear in the feeds. Videos currently won't appear although we are hoping to add this in the future.
If your new safe & public photos fail to appear after linking your accounts, try manually updating your feed from within Facebook as follows:

  • Log into Facebook and go to your Profile
  • Under the "Whats' on your mind" status field, click 'Options' (just below the 'Share' button)
  • That word will change into 'Settings' - click that
  • You will see Flickr in the imported sites area
  • to update, click the Flickr link and tell it to update now
