Snagit: Add Fill Color to a Text Box

Here's how to add color to a text box - this is not easy to find!

• Double-click to highlight the text within the text box
• Press the Ctrl button
• Click on any color in the screen shot, and that color becomes the background of the text box!

SnagIt - Hotkey not Working

Easy to fix: Go to Tools, Program Preferences.  Try different combinations of Global Capture hotkey until the Apply button is no longer grayed out (which means you can select it). I used CTRL+P.

My hotkey used to be CTRL+Prt Sc but evidently a program installation or update has hijacked that combination and SnagIt can no longer use it.

Free Screen Capture Tool (Instead of SnagIt)

Vista has a built in screen capture tool.  You can attach images to email (copies to the clipboard, and saves it as a file).  Search "Snipping Tool" in your Vista search box (you can get a search box when you click the Start). button).
