How to Set a Restore Point in Windows 7

To manually set a restore point in Windows 7:

Click on the Start button:Picture of the Start button
Right click on Computer
Select Properties, then System Protection
Click Create,
Type in a name e.g. "Random" (the date is automatically supplied)

Note you'll need to see "On" under "Protection" beside the drive you are setting the restore point. Mine is, but if it wasn't I'd review this: http://digital-qa.blogspot.com/2011/07/turn-system-restore-on-or-off.html

To create a shortcut, simply go to: Start > type "create" in the search box, then drag "Create a restore point" to your desktop.
