Test your Internet Speed

This is what the Comcast technician used: Speakeasy Speed Test

iTunes - Make a Genius Playlist from Song

Select song, and click the Genius icon at bottom left corner of iTunes window:

iTunes - Wrong Artwork in Coverflow, but Correct Artwork in File

Took a bit of time to figure this one out:
iTune's coverflow gets the album cover from the first track with art.
Thus:
1- find the first track for the ablum (do a search within the iTune's search bar)
2- on the first song for the album: right click, get info, artwork, delete the incorrect artwork which either leaves the correct artwork or allows you to upload your own.
3- I'd do this for all the songs on the album while you're there.
Voila!

How to Set-up your Free Email Account in GoDaddy.com

It always takes me quite awhile to figure this out whenever I purchase a new domain name from GoDaddy.com so instructions from the email they send are here: Tell Me How To: Set up my FREE personalized email account and also below: To Set Up an Email Address Log in to your Account Manager. In the My Products section, click Email. To use a free email credit when the Email option does not display in your My Products section, click Free Products, click Email Account List, click Use Credit, select the domain you want to use from the list, and then click Continue. The account displays as a new account in the Email Account list. Click Manage Account for the email account you want to manage. If an option to add addresses or view all email plans displays, click View All. Click Add for the plan to which you want to add an email address. The Add Email page displays. In the Add Email section, select whether you are using a domain registered or hosted with us or a domain registered or hosted elsewhere, and then in the Email Address field, enter the first part of the email address that you want to create and specify the domain. (Optional) In the Forward Carbon Copy area, enter the email address to which you want message copies sent. Separate multiple addresses with a comma. (Optional) Make a Catchall Account which automatically forwards email messages sent to an unknown address at your domain to this account. (Optional) In the Set Auto-Responder area, set an automatic response to be sent upon receipt of emails to this account. How to make the Cents Sign (¢)

Update 4/24/2017: You can show the ¢ in most documents (Word, Excel, Blogger) by pressing: Alt + 0162 (Note this only works if you use the number pad for the "0162", not the row of number keys across the top of your keyboard)

🍒🍒🍒

It's not straigtforward. Unsure why applications don't simply enable this more easily.

First, two alternative ways to make the Cents Sign (¢) in a document like Word:
  • Hold down Ctrl, then the "/", let go and type "c" (CTRL+"/", "C"), or
  • Type 00A2 and then ALT X
    • I actually recorded a macro so that ALT C inputs the ¢
Or, if your computer recognizes Unicode characters:
  1. On your keypad press and hold the Alt key
  2. Press 1 5 5 (Note if you don't have a keypad see below. You can't use the numbers across the top row of your keyboard)
  3. Let go of the Alt key: "¢" appears
If you don't have a keypad, you'll need to use the numbers that are on your keys (the ones that share a key with a letter, not the ones across the top. For example my "J" can also be a "1"). Generally this is done by something like this:
  1. Press the Num Lock key (Num Lk) to turn on your number pad.
  2. Once the numberpad is active, follow the 3 steps above.
  3. Be sure to tap your Num Lock key again to turn off number pad when you're done.
If that doesn't work, you'll need to simply cut/paste: CTRL+C the text you want to copy e.g. ¢, then CTRL+V to paste into your document.

IE's "Send Page by Email"... is grayed out (Vista)

Used to work but now "Send Page by Email" in Internet Explorer is greyed out. This works: In Internet Explorer select: Tools > Internet Options > Programs

Within that tab select "Set Programs", then select "Set program access and computer defaults"

Beside "Windows Mail" click "Enable access to the program"

That should do it. Send Page by Email... is grayed out (Vista)

Internet Explorer keeps Crashing

This works - Resetting everything in IE: Per JohnUSAF - 22-May-2008, 12:19 PM http://forums.techguy.org/windows-vista-7/635433-internet-explorer-7-keeps-crashing.html "Typically when I have an IE problem I try to reset everything. What you can do is click on start find your IE icon, right click on it, choose properties. In the menu that comes up delete all temp files, clear history, and delete cookies. Then go to the advanced tab and reset all settings (using reset button). If this doesn't work disable all add-ons (on the programs tab) and see if IE will run. If it does you pretty much know you have a bad add-on somewhere. So the next step is to enable updates one-by-one until you can reproduce the error, then you know which add-on is bad and then disable/uninstall it. There is nothing special about IE it's just an HTML reader and nothing else." Thanks JohnUSAF!
