Replace "beckytoo" with the Pinterest username you'd like to follow.

Currently I don't see a way to follow a specific board. Do you?

Quick and Easy - Remove Data from MAC

Quick and easy way to remove your data from the Mac:

Create a new user account (with Admin rights). Log off the old user account and log in with the new one. Then delete the old user account. I'd use the delete "securely" option.

How to report Sites that copy your Blog Content

The great post below shows you how to inform Google to investigate a web site that is scraping your blog and posting it in its entirety.

It's on old blog but the access method still works (basically find an ad on the sleazy site and click the "AdChoices" link generally in the lower left corner).

Source and thanks: kuanhoong dot com » How to report duplicate content to Google

Sites that copy your blog content:

http://export contacts . blogspot. com/ - Especially egregious. No contact info whatsoever on this ad laden site that's geared for users to 'accidentally' click ads.

UPDATE 4/11/2012 - Google has taken the site down. Thanks Google!
UPDATE 4/12/2012 - The site is back up. There's now an email address which I emailed. Bounced back. Everything about this site is sleazy.

What are the others?

3/25/2012: Remove your Blog from Blogger-Index - This site also posts blogs in their entirety.

Apple MACs do get Viruses

I'm transitioning to Mac and had been reading about it not being necessary to install anti-virus protection on Mac's, but that didn't sit well with me. With the growing number of Mac users it's only a matter of time before viruses do exist on Mac's. If for no reason other than some hacker's joy in doing what smuggies keep saying can't be done.

My search is to find a good anti-virus software for the Mac.

I'm keeping what I find here:

5/5/2012 - The Flashback Trojan
How you may get it - One way it arrives is that it appears as an Adobe Flash upgrade and you may nonchalantly click yes to install (BTW, Macs don't ship with Adobe Flash). More good stuff here (how to tell if you have it, how to get rid of it, good tips on helping to prevent attacks):
Mac Flashback malware: What it is, and how to get rid of it (FAQ) | Apple Talk - CNET News

Ahhh... good to know:
"Apple has its own malware scanner built into OS X called XProtect." from above article.

5 Ways to Keep Your Google Browsing Private

5 Ways to Keep Your Google Browsing Private
By Alicia Eler for www.readwriteweb.com

Good stuff like:
  • If you really want to play it safe, don't use Google. Try a search engine like DuckDuckGo, which says up front that it does not track or bubble you.
  • Disconnect.Me believes that a user's personal info should "be treated with respect, that you should be the steward of your digital self, and that you should own your own data." The platform aims to put users back in charge, allowing them to decide who actually does what with their online data. Disconnect.Me is a browser plugin, quickly installed. In Chrome, users can manage it through the Extensions option in the Window menu.
Disconnect.Me is in the media with comments such as this:

CNN “Kennish left Google in November to focus more on programs that empower people to take control of their privacy online.”

Lifehacker
“Enter Disconnect, an extension that de-personalizes your browsing without cutting off necessary functionality.”

WSJ
“Importantly, it keeps users logged into Gmail while keeping their search queries private.”

Lifehacker's Best Screen Capture for Mac: Skitch

"Mac OS X already offers a means of capturing screenshots with a few keyboard shortcuts, but if you want to do a little more you have to grab a third-party tool. Of the many available, Skitch is our favorite..." Free version or $10 for the Pro.

continue reading here: The Best Screen Capture Tool for Mac OS X

and Lifehacker on Snagit:
"Snagit ($50) was initially only for Windows, and a Lifehacker reader favorite, but now it is available for Mac. It offers a lot of the same functionality as Skitch, yet it costs $50. Why would you pay $50 when you've got an app that does the same thing for free? I don't know."

How to open iPhone Camera from locked Mode

To quickly open the Camera when iPhone is locked, press the Home button or the On/Off button to turn the screen on, then drag the camera icon (it's beside "slide to unlock") up.

Yes, you drag up! Clicking the icon will not work. Yea, I was clicking too.
